4 MONTHS!

Happy 4 Months Ryan!!! I can't believe you have grown so fast!!! We have his doctors appointment tomorrow so I'll follow up then with all his stats and accomplishments. Just had to leave a couple pictures.
Andy moved his hands just in time so I could snap the picture so it looks like he's sitting by himself. He's not doing that quite yet!
He is getting strong and he likes to try and stand up by himself...
We love you!!

Visitors

Over the last week or so we've gotten to see a couple familiar faces! My friend from college, Eileen, was in town for a couple days so we got to spend some time together. I introduced Eileen to Ryan and we shopped around for a bit and went to eat lunch during the day. Andy watched Ryan that night so I could go out for a little "girls dinner". I missed my guys, but it was nice to just get out for a couple hours and catch up with friends.
Friday night Andy's special teams coach, Kurt Schottenheimer, and his wife Colleen, invited us to a dinner they had put together for the "specialists". They encouraged us to bring Ryan so he tagged along :)
They rented out a space at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. We've never been up there, but we'll surely go back! It was gorgeous. The views were awesome and the atmosphere was too. They hold concerts up there so maybe we'll check one out sometime.
View from the top. This picture doesn't do it justice. You could see the bay from up there too. It was breath-taking.
Here's the amphitheater where they have concerts.
After dinner Andy's parents arrived! Ryan was sleepy from dinner so the Lees didn't get to see him until the next morning. He really was happy to see them-not that it looks that way in this picture, but he really was. He was probably just hungry, but I couldn't resist putting up one with his little lip poking out.
That's better....
"Hey grandpa...you're silly..."
So...you saw that lip poking out a few pics back. Yea...fast forward about 30 minutes from when this next picture was taken and that's the look Ryan was giving me in the stadium. He was NOT a fan of all the loud noises and scary screaming men. I guess the Monday Night Football excitement + the time of night was a bit overwhelming. Poor little guy. He was all ready in his cleats :(
After his meltdown he fell asleep in his carseat.
In the car....
where I listened to the whole game on the radio...
Andy's mom sat with me though, which was so sweet of her. We couldn't believe we were listening to SUCH an exciting game in the car! haha...we'll tell Ryan when he grows up and I'm sure we'll all giggle. Even though we lost I'm still so proud of the Niners! Go get 'em this weekend guys!!

SURF'S UP!

This morning my friend, Megan, invited Ryan and I to join her family in Santa Cruz to watch her husband compete in a paddle boarding race in the event "The Big Kahuna". They had a triathlon going on and a couple other events too. I had never been to the beach there so we headed over the hill to check it out. The event was at Cowell's Beach-really cool spot with lots of cute shops and restaurants.
The race started at 11 so we got there a little early to get settled and wish Dan good luck. Ryan got to try out his new Baby Bjourn. It was nice to have because he is getting SO heavy!!
The event was sponsored by Muscle Milk. Ryan asked if he could try some, but I told him he didn't need any...he's already so buff and strong :)
This was the perfect occasion for him to sport his surf shirt. (By the way, I wasn't trying to make him wear a hat sideways-I just forgot to bring him a hat so he wore one of Megan's son's hats and it was a wee bit too big for him)
Megan and her son, Bennett, who chipped his tooth at Ryan's sip-and-see playing pool-ouch!
Ethan played in the sand while the race went on. They paddled out for 2 1/2 miles into the ocean and back. That's 5 miles paddling on a surfboard! I don't know how they did it for that long-I would've never made it!
Dan did awesome for his first race! He finished in just over an hour. Megan's oldest son, Tate, was so cute yelling "alright Dad!" as he came in at the finish.
another shot... he said he didn't fall off once! That must take some balance.
Megan's friend, Allie, held Ryan for a while.
He really enjoyed his first visit to the Pacific Ocean. It was perfect weather-such a great day for the race.
Andy is playing in Seattle tomorrow or else I know he would have loved to join us. Andy has been wanting to try surfing for a few years now, but never got a chance. Maybe he will get to try it this year. Dan would be a good teacher!
Thanks for inviting us Megan! We had a great time!

The Sweetest Sound

Just this week Ryan has shown us his REAL laugh! We have heard little giggles for a while now, but the last couple of days he has really let loose! I finally had my phone (with camera) ready to capture it so I had to share. It really is the sweetest sound I've ever heard!

Hope this made you chuckle a little too!

Sip-n-See (and eat... and spoil baby Ryan...)

On Tuesday night my awesome friends Nicole, Gina, and Elizabeth through a sip-n-see for Ryan. We joke that when I left in January I was barely showing and then I came back with a big 'ol baby! Everyone came to celebrate Ryan and welcome him to the "team". The girls really out did themselves with all the decor and little touches that made the night so special. We really felt spoiled!
The party had a farm theme from the invitations that Nicole handmade (she's so talented) to the food and decorations. They really thought of everything!
Here's the table set up:
Gorgeous flowers and place settings. They used bandanas for napkins, mason jars for glasses, and terracotta planter bases for plates. So creative!
The water wagon
The man of the hour himself! His little red and blue plaid outfit really matched the party theme!
Frame that Nicole made, and little tags that everyone wrote messages to Ryan on to go in my scrapbook (again that Nicole made!)
Some of Ryan's clothes hanging up. He has a whole new wardrobe now!
The food was amazing! Grilled chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, potato salad, spinach salad, and a beet salad I must get the recipe for. They worked so hard to make everything so delicious! The dessert was awesome too. Cupcakes...
THE DELICOUS CAKE! I had a piece for breakfast this morning and I don't even feel one bit bad about it!
The take away gifts were tootsie roll pops with M&Ms that had "Ryan Andrew" on them tied together with Ryan's sweet picture. How creative!! I love how everyone got to go home with a picture of his smiling face.
The lovely hostesses: Elizabeth, Nicole, and Gina. Thank you again girls for doing such an awesome job. You really made us feel so special. I know when I tell Ryan one day all that you did for him he will feel truly blessed to have so many great friends that care about him. Thank you again!! Can't wait to post pictures of Ryan in all his new clothes!
