Super Bowl, Snow, and Baby Update

Last year when we were building our house, Andy wanted to get in before February because he SO badly wanted to have a Super Bowl party. Well, as you may know, we weren't ready to move in until the Thursday after the Super Bowl-darn! So this year, we decided to have a little gathering for the big game. We had some family and friends over, lots of food, and some fun and games! Andy is holding up our score pool for the game. We all bought squares for $1 each and then filled in our names. Then we filled in each side with the numbers 0-9. The person with their name in the square corresponding with the score at the end of each quarter, and the final score won some $$! $15/quarter and $55 for the final. Nick won the big pot!
Tyler and Alicia's daughter, Zuri, was so sweet. She enjoyed getting kisses from Layla and visiting with everyone. She is just the cutest!
Look at that sweet smile!

Friday night Greenville got our "yearly" snow :) I say that because it seems like we have at least 3 or 4 times during the winter months where we get excited about snow and then...nothing. But this Friday, the snow came down! We probably got 2-3" and it's still covering our backyard today (Sunday). Here's a shot of our yard from Saturday morning.
Layla loves running around in it. Her toys were buried by the snow, but she had no problem sniffing them out.

Besides the excitement of snow, we've had a lot of excitement involving the baby :) We registered at Babies'R'us this week which really makes it feel like the baby will be here before we know it. Picking out things like the stroller, car seat, and all the necessities make it seem so real that all of it will be for our little one that's kicking around inside of me!
I had another doctor's appointment this week where I was measured (right on track) and we listened to the baby's heartbeat (145-150 this time). I feel like I've grown a lot this week. I've read that between now and 28 weeks the baby is filling out a lot, so I'm expecting to grow a lot too. I know I've got a way to go, but I still feel like I'm getting big! Here I am at 25 weeks!!

24 WEEKS

So I'm 24 weeks today! I'm feeling SO many kicks and flips! It's so much fun to think about what the baby is doing in there. This morning Andy put his hand on my tummy and I think the baby was giving him high fives and karate kicks :)
Lately I've been feeling pretty good. I've still been waking up early and I have to eat something because I'm starving! My appetite has gotten a little bigger, I guess because the baby is growing a lot these days. I haven't had any major cravings, but I have had quite a sweet tooth. Hershey bars with almonds have been my favorite this week.

According to what I've been reading the baby is a little over 1 lb. now and is about the size of a papaya or an eggplant.

Any guesses on whether it's a little boy or girl??? I'll let you know what my family thinks on the next post!

Trip to Florida

We just got back from about a 10 day trip to Florida. I think I'll try to sum up the trip with pictures since there's just so much to write about! :)
We started off our trip in Orlando where Andy's brother and his fiance live. We hung out on Saturday and went to dinner, then we checked out Disney World on Sunday! We decided to just take on one park since we only had one day, so we went to Magic Kingdom.

Here's Andy, Jennifer, and Chad on Thunder Mountain. I couldn't get on because I'm "with child" :)

In front of the castle
We left on Monday for Ft. Lauderdale and checked into the players' hotel. Here's the view from our room. Nice!
The next day we did a little shopping and sightseeing in the area. We stopped at a cute spot for lunch called Coconuts on the water and ate a yummy crab cake BLT
Andy had meetings that night, so afterwards we checked out a cute spot-Bahia Cabana- for dinner and some live music.
The next day we hit the beach and the pool! Love the warm weather!
Later that evening Andy's parents, Sam, Nick, my dad, Lillian, Stefanie, and Katie all arrived in town. We all met up at the "welcome party" at our hotel. It had a cuban theme- dancers, food, and a cigar rolling station.
The next day I went with my dad's crew to check out dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium. They got to get in the pool but I couldn't :( It was cool to watch though!
The dolphin (Zoe-a boy) was really cute. He jumped and did flips, caught and retrieved balls, kissed them, and waved. He was only 3 years old, but really smart!
Andy made reservations for us that night at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse. If you've never been to one of these before you should definitely check one out! There's a bar with all kinds of salads and sides, and then the main attraction-meat! Chicken, pork, salmon, swordfish, chicken with bacon, all kinds of steaks-I can't even name them all-are brought to you on these big skewers. Each person has a card that they flip over to green when you want meat or red when you don't. It's all you can eat, so needless to say, Andy was in heaven!
Friday morning-picture day!
Later there was a family beach party. Nick joined up some guys to play some football and impressed a lot of NFL players. Deangelo Williams (of the Carolina Panthers) even told Nick he had great hands!
Donnie and Josh (Andy's buds from home) with Donovan McNabb
Rebecca, my mom, and Jimmy all arrived in time for the party too!
Our whole group went to dinner later at Truluck's Seafood. Andy had the biggest crab legs I've ever seen.
The whole group! (17 of us that night I think)
Andy's agent, Eddie, joined us on Saturday.
Then all 21-that's right 21 of us at dinner at Big City Tavern.
All the girls in matching shirts. Go Andy!
Everyone smiling except Stefanie-always a clown!
All the 49ers being announced before the game.
So proud of Andy! He had 2 great punts and did perfectly holding for field goals and extra points. What a wonderful honor and a wonderful time we had in Ft. Lauderdale. It was hard to leave the warm sunny weather, but we're glad to be back home settling in again. Now to catch up on all the stuff I recorded on the DVR...I love that thing!! :)
