Trying to Update

True confession:
I feel like a terrible mom. Not only did I drop the ball on my 1st child's monthly updates (you may have noticed that I missed a few months...) but I've totally gotten behind with #2's updates and accomplishments. Poor little guy :( He's growing up so much faster than it seems Ryan did. I cannot believe Adam is almost 8 months.

Here's what he/they've been up to lately:

Made it to California without any major bumps at the end of July. In fact, they both slept the majority of the way and mom and dad had a "date"--got to eat and watch The Hunger Games without interruption!! What a treat!
Adam enjoys being outdoors and trying to sit up...
But would rather be on his tummy. Learned to roll from back to belly @ 6 months
And also decided he didn't need any help holding his own bottle. (sad...but helpful ;)

6 months-
Starting to say "Mama" sounds and a little "dada"
Wearing 9 mo. clothes
Size 3 Diapers
18 lbs 8 oz- 70th %
27.75"- 90th %
Rolling both ways
Loves to bounce in his exersaucer
Sleeping great at night- about 8 PM- 7:30 AM
Started eating solid foods @ 6 mo. and really likes oatmeal, and any fruit
Still working on napping. Usually only 1 good nap a day with some cat naps-I guess he just doesn't want to miss any of the fun

Really in to watching his big bro. Everything he does is really cool and funny!

@ 7 months-
hit a growth spurt somewhere in there and is now in 12 mo. footed PJs
Got his first 2 teeth on the bottom- within 5 days of each other
Saying "mama" when I leave the room or when he gets upset
Same sleeping schedule
Learning to clap
Starting to imitate (likes to make "indian noises"?--hand to mouth--you know what I mean!)
Getting up on hands and knees and rocking
Starting to "scoot"--he can get where he wants to go by pulling himself on the floor-see video at the bottom of this post
Ryan loves to cuddle with Adam but doesn't quite realize he's too heavy to lay on him. Adam is tough and doesn't seem to mind though!

Now for some big brother updates:

Cheering for daddy is the best! Ryan's favorite activity is trying to kick the football "up high" like dad. He wears his jersey and puts on his "helmet"(Iron man mask). It's really sweet. He's actually really good at it too! My little athlete!

More snuggly fun!

Big brother Ryan likes to help hold and feed Adam too. He even tries to sing songs to him too. I wish I could've recorded him the other day singing "Jesus loves me". Melted my heart...
Ryan is full of words, sentences, expressions, energy. Just full of fun every day! He's very wild and active, but I wouldn't have him any other way. On his down time he enjoys Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and a few new Nick Jr. shows that our sitter has introduced him to- Bubble Guppies and Max and Ruby. He also loves to color, try to build things, and helping me cook. He's just in to everything! Anything sports related remains his favorite though! Golf, football, basketball...you name it, he loves it.
On days off Andy has been taking Ryan with him over to the 49ers training facility. He has to get treatment on his thumb and then they run around the field, go swimming, eat lunch, ect. It's so cute that they get a little bonding time and Ryan gets to do big boy things like that with his dad. He looks so tall in this pic.

And here's our little guy on the move. This was his actual "first crawl". I think this counts even though he's not on his knees. He's moving so I'm counting it! Andy was in Ohio when this happened so I'm glad I caught it on camera.

Well, that's about it for now. I hope to update more often!

2 Months

I realize I missed Adam's one month update, so I thought I'd go ahead and post his 2 month picture before more time goes by! I don't have his official stats because our doctor's appointment had to be pushed to next week, but this little guy is doing great!

-eating about 7 times a day (every 2-3 hours)
-sleeping great at night (averaging a 7-8 hour stretch each night!-in bed around 9 then sleeps til 5 and sometimes even 6 AM)
-not napping so great but usually takes at least one good nap a day
-lots of smiling and cooing
-loves to be held and rocked
-rolled over once for daddy (He must've been straining to look for mommy since I wasn't at home!)
-still sleeping in our room, but will move to his room soon

Here he is in his crib
Hey...who's that?!?
photo shoot crasher!
A little blurry because I was racing to get the shot...
Brothers!
Will update stats soon! He looks bigger in this pic than in person. I think he's gonna be the long and lean one!

On the night you were born...

We went to bed on Saturday night just like any normal night. Little did we know, our little guy was just preparing to make his appearance.
I woke up around 2 AM with contractions. This had happened before so I waited and started to watch the clock before I got concerned. After about 30 minutes of consistent contractions within 5 minutes apart I woke Andy up and called my doctor. She said to wait for about an hour before going to the hospital, but we went ahead and called the Lees to come be with Ryan just in case. We're so happy that we did because this baby was ready!
The Lees arrived around 4:30 AM and we were off to the hospital. At this point my contractions had become closer together and had definitely gotten stronger. I didn't experience back labor with Ryan, but around when we got to the hospital I was having very painful back labor. Once we got admitted and into a room I was ready for my epidural. Contractions were under 2 minutes apart and I was scared this baby was coming quickly! Around 6:45 I was able to get my epidural--thank God!! I had gone from 5 cm to 9 cm in under 30 minutes. By the time it had set in my water broke and I was almost ready to push. I don't know how Andy got this picture where I actually look comfortable. This must be post-epidural.

At 8:07 AM we met our baby boy for the first time.
Introducing...
Adam George Lee
7 lbs 13 oz
21 1/4"

I can't believe we are now a family of 4! Ryan was very interested in Adam, and now calls him his brother :) It's very sweet. He asks to see the baby and hug him too, but for the most part he doesn't really seem too affected. I know it will take some adjusting to feel like it's the new "normal" so we're just taking it day by day.
Ready to go home....
Now to figure out the newborn thing again! You would think we would know but I feel like I've forgotten everything. He is a whole new person afterall! We've been very thankful for family and friends who helped us welcome baby Adam into the world! We so appreciate the help of the Lees for keeping Ryan while we were in the hospital, and to my mom for coming and staying the last few days. It has been so helpful to have an extra set of hands while figuring out how to be parents of 2. We feel excited one minute and overwhelmed the next, but we're trying to remember how incredibly blessed we are to have 2 healthy boys to call our sons. Sometimes it's hard for me to accept that God has entrusted these boys to me as their mom, so I'm trying to do my best! These first few weeks are tough, but with Andy around, I'm one lucky girl!

Ok-enough about that..time to feed again!

Christmas Weekend

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone already! I'm so thankful Andy was able to be home, and we were all able to be together this weekend. I decided that Ryan and I would take the trip to Seattle to watch the game in person on Christmas Eve. It was a lot of work traveling with a toddler, but with some help from friends we made it... and it was worth the trip! I haven't traveled to an away game in a while, so it was a fun adventure.

On the flight out he was pretty excited to be on an airplane. He always points them out in the sky and says "Shooooo"(airplane sound) with his arms out. He was all smiles in this picture but it is really dark.

We took it easy Friday night and had dinner with Andy in the room, then called it a night so we could get rested up for the big game the next day.
Here we are about to leave the hotel and get in our stretch Hummer to go to the stadium. A group of us girls all went in together for transportation. It was fun to all be together!

Our friend was able to get a field box so we had great seats. We were right behind the goal post, and had both indoor and outdoor areas with all the food and drinks you could want. It was such a treat! This little guy wanted to be outside with all the action.

Andy came over before the game to say hello and Ryan was a little upset he couldn't go down on the field. He wanted daddy!
Luckily Andy got to come back after the game was over and Ryan got to get on the field for a minute. I'm so glad the Niners could come home with a win on Christmas Eve! Even though Andy had a punt blocked (not his fault) he still played great. We were so proud of him!
Go Niners!! Go Daddy!
We arrived back home late Christmas Eve, just in time to go to sleep so Santa could drop by. Andy took a video of Ryan coming down and seeing his presents, but I haven't uploaded it yet. Here's a couple pics-
Ryan with his new scooter. Even though he's a little young for it, he admires all the kids on bikes and scooters in the neighborhood, so he's happy to have his own to stand on.
Figuring out how to feed Cookie Monster. (from Uncle Chad and Aunt Jennifer)
Family of 3 (for not much longer)

I thought I would add in a couple pictures from the 49ers Christmas party from last week. It was very kid friendly!
Santa made an appearance too. Ryan is fine looking at Santa from a far, but don't get him too close.

Classic Christmas picture:
We missed the family and friends we weren't able to be with this year, and hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We are truly blessed this year with so much. Most of all we are thankful for the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ-the greatest gift ever given!

18 months

I've almost considered giving up blogging since I'm not very good at keeping up with it, but I guess all of you who read will just have to settle with my slackness. I'm very sorry! I have the best of intentions, but it just isn't happening as often as I'd hope.

With that said...Ryan turned 18 months at the end of November. I can't believe my baby is on his way to becoming a 2 year old---but I can't even begin to talk about that without getting a little emotional. SO let's just talk about what he's doing right now :)

Stats from the Dr.- 28 lbs, 34 1/2 " (75th %, 95%)

Wearing mostly 2T in shirts/jackets, 24 month pants fit pretty well, size 6 shoe

Talking non stop-can almost repeat anything we say

Climbing all over the place (climbed out of his crib once last week-oh Lord)

Loves music and dancing

Favorite toys: Balls continue to be at the top of the list along with cars, trucks, and trains

Can tell you lots of animal noises-likes to point them out

Very curious and energetic-it's getting hard for me to chase him

Still loves the bath, or even taking a shower with Dad

Likes to pray before meals (he's a good reminder of when we forget)

Very social-loves to wave and smile at new people, especially girls

Fascinated with babies-if they're crying he gets very concerned and wants to hug or hold them

Likes to "help"-throwing away trash is his favorite

Still a pretty good eater, but has become a little picky. He does like: oatmeal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, grilled cheese, chicken/chicken nuggets, meat (hamburgers*), sweet potatoes, green beans, lots of fruits, really loves ketchup, chips, and cookies :)-only on occasion

Loves to try to color. When he wants crayons he says "yell-O"(yellow)

I can't wait for family and friends back home to see him soon and how much he has changed and learned. He amazes me everyday with how much he understands and the skills he's mastering.

I'll leave you with this picture. It's his typical expression when he thinks I'm acting crazy or doesn't like something. I don't know about anyone else but I get just a hint of Kevin McAlister (from Home Alone) what do you think??

October Recap

October has come and gone, so I guess it's a little late for pictures of pumpkin patches and Halloween, but here I go anyway!!

Andy's bye week came at a perfect time. We just moved into a new house since we sold ours out here and we needed some rest and time as a family! We went down to Morgan Hill to check out the pumpkin patch, and it was definitely worth the drive! There were plenty of pumpkins, a carousel, choo choo train, hayrides, lots of food, and even performances on the weekends.

Since his favorite things are balls, Ryan tried to pick up lots of pumpkins, but they were way too heavy. He'd say "uuuggghhh" and try really hard. It was so funny!

On the train!

Andy also got to join us for our weekly class at the Little Gym. Ryan was excited to show dad all of his fun tricks and new friends!

We even headed to Santa Cruz for a day trip to the beach during Andy's time off. It was chilly, but nice to see the ocean again.
The next week we celebrated Halloween. Ryan was an air force pilot since he loves watching all of the airplanes that fly over our house. He had a lot of fun going door to door and getting to see everyone dressed up.

Most of the time when someone gave him candy he would put it back in their basket. I guess we've been working on putting things back where we found them at our house and he didn't get that he got to keep the candy. What a little sweetie!
Our little Tom Cruise!!
Maybe I'll get to update November before it's over.....
